How To Speed Up Your Gaming PC

Posted on October 15, 2016 at 9:52 pm

When it comes to PC gaming, hardware performance is a top priority. Many of the AAA titles make use of the extra power, so having more power available is only a good thing.

One way to improve your PCs performance is to defragment your hard drive. Over time your computer’s hard drive gets fragmented when you run a program as well as opening or closing a file, and the more fragmented it is the slower your computer gets.

This is why you should defragment your hard disk at least once a month. This can be done with Windows’ built-in Disk Defragmenter utility. Just click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter and begin defragmenting the drive.

This process can take up to a few hours depending on your PCs configuration. Also be sure to restart your computer after the defragmenter utility has finished.

Games To Check Out This September

Posted on September 29, 2016 at 7:10 pm

Since the No Mans Sky hype has fizzled out, and since it didn’t live up to its galactic expectations, many people are left with a black hole that needs to be filled. But do not fear, there are plenty more games still floating around.

Fractured Space is something that might fill that space faring void. A MOBA set in space in which teams of 5 players go against each other in a battle of capital ship combat. The game has just come out of early access and there are a few sales on the in-game store to celebrate its release.

You could also take a scenic trip under the sea with Abzu, or go with the reliable gridiron action of Madden17. But there are also plenty of other great games this month that might’ve slipped by unnoticed. Those of you who missed out on Overcooked, Reigns, Hue, or Inversus, there’s no better time than now to check ’em out.

Space Run – Trucker Trekking Fun

Posted on August 31, 2016 at 5:58 pm

Released in 2014, Space Run is a tower defence game by Passtech Games. It focuses on tower placement, actions per minute and trial and error, all of which comes across as a very traditional tower defence style game reminiscent of the old Warcraft custom maps like Element TD.

This is both to its strength and to its weakness. The game focuses on trial and error, which is considered now to be an archaic design choice. But if you can stick through it, there is great satisfaction in getting a tower placement just right and blasting through a level at literal warp speed. It gives a solid feeling of ‘yeah, I beat that level’.

However, this leaves little replay value. Once all the missions are completed, there’s really no reason to do them again except to ace them score-wise. Which isn’t a bad thing, once a game is finished its finished right?
